Compassion Finds a Home
It began with the desire to provide a comfortable, welcoming place where patients could live every moment to the fullest, surrounded by families and loved ones.
A fundraising campaign began in September 2007 with a goal of $3 million to acquire land and build the facility.
Thanks to the generous support of a very giving community, we soon had enough to begin construction of the approximately 12,000 square foot building. One wing houses the seven-room inpatient Hospice House as well as inviting gathering spaces and a children's play area. The other wing provides office space for home care staff, volunteer training and bereavement services.
The finishing touches of the Center have yet to be completed, though. We need your assistance to finish the outdoor spaces of the 11-acre Elkhart campus that will compliment the existing facility and give patients and their loved ones outdoor areas to enjoy.
These areas will include walking paths, sitting areas, benches and other places on the grounds. And to honor loved ones, we are offering a broad range of naming opportunities in selected areas.
Naming Opportunities are available. Click here for details.
